Create a Custom Lead Field

Hey there! In this article, you’ll learn how to create your own custom lead fields in Spreadly so you can collect exactly the info you need from your leads. If you want a deep dive into all the different types of lead fields, check out this article.

Before we start: Custom lead fields let you personalize what info you collect about your leads. Super handy for making your lead management fit your workflow!

Step 1: Open the Custom Attributes Section

First things first, you’ll need to head over to the Custom Attributes area in your Spreadly dashboard:

  • In the sidebar, click on Leads to expand the menu.
  • Select Custom Attributes.

Step 2: Create a New Custom Lead Field

Once you’re in the Custom Attributes section, you’ll see options to add a new attribute:

Here’s what you can set up:

  • Name: Give your field a name. This is how you’ll recognize it later.
  • Type: Choose the type of field, like “Single line text”, dropdown, number, etc., see Types of Custom Lead Fields
  • Label: This is what shows up on forms for users to fill out.
  • Example value: You can add a sample value to show people what to enter.
  • Auto fill: (Optional) Pick if this field should be auto-populated from other data.
  • CRM field: If you use CRM integration, set the corresponding field name here, see Map Custom Lead Fields to Your CRM for more information.

When you’re happy with your settings, just save your new attribute!
